If you're like me, and only played a little of Taito's Violence Fight, and it's a been a while since you've played it, you may well scratch your head and wonder if you didn't just start up the same game. It has the same Engrishy introduction about becoming the #1 Quarreler (though with a bonus SECOND intro if you let the attract screen hang around), and the same cast of characters with very samey-looking sprites.

But it is in fact a sequel, released about two years later (despite the minimal changes). It's roughly comparable to SF2 Turbo in that it more bolts on new additions than actually gives you a new game. The main one being that you can now play as the bosses from the previous game, with the final boss just being a palette-swapped clone of your character. Some levels now allow hookers from the audience to run in and stab away, though your character either didn't get the memo or didn't have the funds to pay one off as you seem to be the only one that's ever targeted.

Anyway, it's even tougher than the prequel. I  was able to get through that one, I couldn't even get close to passing the second level in this one with any character.  These two games are kinda interesting as a "missing link" of sorts between Street Fighter and its sequel, even seemingly influencing Pit Fighter and some other more minor things, but you can see why nobody remembers or talks about them any more - they're just plain trash to play.
